About the film

Kimeru (Japanese for “to decide”) is an indie psychological thriller written and directed by Danny Tirmizi. The story follows a young girl fleeing online harassment into a remote forest, planning one last night of freedom before unexpected events in the wilderness reshape her destiny. The forest has secrets: people feeding off pain and suffering under the guise of dark tourism. Beyond the genre beats, the film is a purpose-driven commentary on cyberbullying and suicide prevention, aiming to raise awareness and provide resources for a safer digital environment.

My role

I composed and produced the original score. The brief was to build an enchanting Scandinavian-Nordic ambience that matched the haunted stillness of the forest: sparse, cold, and reverent, with an undercurrent of dread. The first released composition from the score is a piece titled “Nocturn.”
